Since retiring from elected office as a Texas district court judge in 2000, John Delaney has practiced Mediation and Arbitration of civil and family disputes in Texas state and county courts.

By 2005 more than 250 mediations had been conducted, with a settlement rate exceeding 90%.

He is available for "private judging" (Special Judge , Ch. 151, C.P.R.C.); Senior District Judge sitting by assignment; and able to travel throughout Texas.
